Manhattan Real Estate Information
Beekman/Sutton Place Real Estate

Sutton Place and Beekman Place are two of the city's most desireable residential addresses. Found along the East River in midtown its a neighborhood of the city's finest buildings. Elegant but not too formal they are sought after as places to settle into in the city.

Sutton Place is the larger area. It has two public parks, one at 57th Street and another at 53rd Street. Beekman Place has only one. Both have one dominant apartment building that set the tone of the neighborhood.: One Sutton Place South is one of the city's classic addresses. It's a building that welcomes you through it's triple-arch driveway. It's a grand, Neo-Georgian style mansion. It was orinally built for and designed by and is the home of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. It features a large lobby that opens onto its own large garden. One Beekman Place is not quite as imposing but still has its own strong elegance.

Sutton Place is flanked by two rows of townhouse- one on the East Side of 57th and theother on the south side of 58th Street between Sutton Place and the river. All enjoy a large communal garden. East of Sutton Place (E. 58th St) is known as Sutton Square, a name also given to the block of townhouses with its communal garden.

this area commands top prices whenever there is availability. It's is a close revival for the well-known addresses of 5th Avenue and Central Park West.
